A China Family Visiting (Q) Visa is issued for visitors who plan to go back to China to visit family members. A pre-approved Chinese Tourist Visa stamp on your passport is required before boarding the flight to China.

DOCUMENT CHECKLIST:  

• Actual passport 

• Actual Chinese passport if this is your first time applying

• A copy of your naturalization certificate

• A copy of your name change petition if your name is different from the Chinese passport

• An invitation letter from a Chinese family member  [Click to download]

• A photocopy of the inviting person's Chinese national ID card-both sides

• Signed Where-you-stay form

• A copy of your driver's license

Important Reminders:

Please mail in all required documents in a timely manner. Failing to do so may result in delayed visa approval or refusal by the Chinese Consulate.

- The Chinese Consulate will make the final decision on issuing a visa to China and may ask for further documents.

- Please mail your package with secured and traceable services such as FedEx, UPS, and USPS Express.

- If you are a former Chinese citizen, and this is the first time that you have applied for a visa to China, please send in your actual Chinese passports.

- If you are a former Chinese citizen, and this is the first time that you have applied for a visa to China, and you have changed your name, please provide a name change petition file copy.

- If you have an expired Chinese visa, please provide a copy of that and the passport bio page.

- If you are the parents of adopted Chinese children, please send in a copy of your adoption documents.
